The Tuesday Community Lunch
£3.50 for a main course and pudding. If you are on a low income, we may be able to subsidise your meal.
The weekly lunch is just one of the events in which we bring our community together to share food in a safe and hospitable environment. We provide a nutritious 2 course lunch cooked by a fantastic team of volunteers at Helena Lane Day Centre, Hamlet Road, SY8 2NP. It’s an opportunity for those on their own or who are unable to cook for themselves to eat and have a chat but essentially, we’re open to all regardless of circumstances.
You will be welcomed by one of our lunch team who will discuss any dietary requirements that you may have, note a contact number and take the payment. If you’re on your own we’ll introduce you to other diners, then you can sit back, relax, and enjoy the food and the company!
Transport: We may be able to provide transport if necessary for a small charge, but we rely on the goodwill of our volunteers, so please try and make it under your own steam if possible.
Booking: You need to prebook your place by the preceding Friday by ringing the helpline: 01584 817250. We will ask if you have any special dietary requirements or allergies e.g. gluten free, vegan, lactose intolerance. You’ll still be very welcome, but it allows us to plan ahead and ensure that we will have something safe for you to eat.
