Mark joined Ludlow Men's Shed in its early days, bringing not only expert woodworking skills but also a desire to overcome the isolation caused by years of anxiety and depression. Through the Shed, he found friendship, purpose and a place where he could contribute.

In 2024, Mark was recognised as Men's Shed Volunteer of the Year. Two years later, he took on an even greater role as Lead Volunteer, encouraged by fellow members who trusted him to help shape the Shed's future.

Since then, Mark has helped grow membership, recruited and trained the Shed's first female volunteer, and worked closely with HTL's leadership team on its development. He has also completed a range of training, including safeguarding, First Aid at Work, PAT testing, Fire Marshal training and the Orange Button scheme.

For HTL, Mark's story is about more than qualifications or leadership. It is about someone who found purpose through the Men's Shed and is now helping others find it too.
