Volunteering opportunities
From as little as 1 hour a week
Our volunteers provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere every Wednesday afternoon at Helena Lane.
Our volunteers provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere every Tuesday lunchtime at Helena Lane (behind the Catholic Church) for people who benefit from a health hot meal along with company and conversation, all provided by our volunteers.
Our volunteers provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere on the 1st Wednesday afternoon each month for this supportive group who meet in a local café.
Our befriending volunteers provide companionship and low level support similar to that which might occur over the garden hedge through weekly contact with local people who have become lonely or isolated.
Short-term help with walking your dog following injury or sickness.
Our volunteers provide one-off help to those who need support to improve their quality of life and have no friends, family or neighbours who can step in and help.
Our volunteer drivers either transport essential supplies (eg. emergency prescriptions) or people needing lifts who have no friends, family or neighbours who can step in and help.
If you’ve experience helping new parents who might be struggling you could consider volunteering to help run our small group that provides a nurturing environment to help support parents and their new babies / toddlers.
If you’re good at helping provide encouragement, motivation and support to young people who might have lacked the benefit of learning from a positive role model during their childhood you’ve the skills we need in our mentoring team.
If you’ve experience or knowledge of Parkinsnon’s disease and would like to help others by helping run a regular support group we’d love to hear from you.
Over a range of roles, Volunteers open and serve in the community fridge, collect surplus food to stock it and, in the kitchen, make and serve refreshments.
